(Registered Charity Number 500954)
Car Colston & Screveton Village Hall, overseen by the Charity Commission and operating under a scheme established in 1983, has been at the heart of village life for generations.
Originally opened in May 1928, this newly built hall quickly became a central venue for community meetings and social gatherings, bringing neighbours together in Car Colston and beyond. Conveniently located on Screveton Road, the hall has been a key part of village traditions ever since.
From its early days, the hall has proudly been home to the Car Colston & Screveton Women's Institute, which has been running since 1926, providing a cornerstone for community connection and activity.
In recent years, the number of groups and activities using the hall has steadily grown, reflecting its versatility and importance as a local asset. Today, the hall is a lively space hosting a wide variety of weekly activities, including:
- Coffee Mornings with a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere
- East Bridgford Post Office and Shop services during Tuesday Coffee Mornings
- Belvoir Karate sessions
- Paige Verity Fitness Classes, offering Boogie Bounce, Decades Reloaded, Pound, Step Extreme, and Clubbercise
- Chair Yoga, providing a gentle and accessible form of exercise
In addition, the Car Colston & Screveton Women's Institute continues to meet here on the first Wednesday of every month, keeping the tradition alive.
