Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The date for this year’s Annual General Meeting of the Car Colston and Screveton Village Hall Management Committee is Tuesday 26th November 2019. Please note that, to enable committee members and other interested parties to attend the meeting during the hours of daylight, the time of the meeting will be 11.00 am. This change in time is as a direct result of feedback from previous meetings. The meeting will be held in the Village Hall as usual and is open to all residents of the two villages and representatives of regular hiring groups.

Part of the meeting will be dedicated to nominations for committee members and officers for 2019/20. According to the constitution as agreed with the Charities Commission, “One Representative Member shall be appointed by each of the following organisations”

The Parish Meeting of Car Colston
The Parish Meeting of Screveton
The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Mary, Car Colston
The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Wilfred, Screveton
Car Colston Cricket Club
Car Colston and Screveton Mothers’ Union
Car Colston and Screveton Women’s Institute

Additionally, up to two co-operative members may be appointed.

The committee will be seeking to replace the current Chairman and Secretary at the end of the 2018/19 period.
We are particularly keen to attract new members to the committee as the current membership level is perilously low and it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the standards of our very popular venue.

If you feel you could play a role within the committee, please let me know and I’d be happy to discuss with you what this would entail.
An agenda for the meeting will be circulated soon so if you have any subjects, suggestions or concerns you would like raising, please let me know by email, telephone or personal conversation by Friday 8th November 2019.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Christmas Party

For 2019 we are making a change from tradition and will be holding an evening Christmas Party instead of the usual lunch-time event. The party is to be held on Saturday 14th December from 7.00pm. The evening will feature a 'Bring-Your-Own supper, 'live' music, a licenced bar (wines and beers) and a raffle.

Entry to the party is free but will require advanced booking. To reserve a place, please telephone Lynne or John on 01949 21084 or 07926 884802 or email to [email protected]
